The FarmTech Society has continued to grow in 2020. FTS is being recognized for its role in connecting Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) solutions to critical challenges as the core mission to unite and support the industry. FTS strengthens the CEA sector as it develops and implements education initiatives, engages in the standardization development and provides advocacy and information-dissemination with regulators and policymakers.
Highlights of FarmTech Society’s second year:
The Pandemic CoVid-19 has helped identify and accelerate the adoption for CEA solutions beyond the produce sector. CEA is today recognized as the important system adopted in food production. This includes plant based products, protein alternatives, mushrooms, medicinal products and propagation for commodities. CEA can and will help transform the agriculture industry into a resilient and sustainable infrastructure for food security and healthy nutrition.

- Increased our membership by 30% with several new countries added

- The FarmTech Society continues with its three pillars plus the network. Firstly, we support the education of farmers of the future by engaging in initiatives that develop courses and create credentials that meet industry needs. Secondly, we engage with policymakers to help develop and promote policies that foster innovation and support CEA businesses. Thirdly, we support the establishment of standards and best practices that help the industry grow and innovate. Finally, we provide an expanding international network for our members.
