Greenhouse energy shift: accelerate the transition to renewable energy
Invitation to our monthly FTS Knowlegde Exchange Meetup with the team from REGreenhouse, an Interreg North-West Europe-project:
Join us for the launch of RE-Greenhouse, an exciting new EU co-funded project focused on driving the transition to renewable energy in the greenhouse sector.
With North-West Europe housing the highest density of heated greenhouses in Europe—where fossil fuels remain the primary energy source—this initiative aims to address both climate resilience and food security while enhancing the competitiveness of the sector.
The RE-Greenhouse project unites 11 expert partners from 5 countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands) to explore innovative renewable energy solutions in greenhouses.
Each partner brings unique expertise, and the project will implement six pilot projects utilizing different renewable energy technologies, including solar power, heat networks, residual heat, pellet and wood heating systems, and biogas.
By fostering new cross-border collaboration and important knowledge-sharing, RE-Greenhouse will empower greenhouse operators to embrace renewable energy sources and reduce their reliance on fossil fuels. The project will also develop a decision-support tool to help optimize energy flow, production, consumption, and storage in greenhouses.
Join us to learn more about these groundbreaking initiatives and how they aim to inspire greenhouse operators across North-West Europe to transition to sustainable energy sources
