FarmTech Society’s Third Annual General Meeting

FarmTech Society (FTS) held its third annual general meeting online on the 14th April 2021, attended by numerous industry professionals from our membership as well as most of our partner organizations.

Reports on the progress of this past year were given by the Board of Directors, Secretary General, Treasurer and Committees. The chairman laid out significant updates to the governance and presented an expansion of activities and services, which will be providing ever greater value to our members. All of these structural and governance updates were endorsed by a majority vote via a secure and verifiable online voting system. In addition, one vacant board seat was filled with Mary Ellis and incumbent board member Stefan Frey was re-elected in accordance with the statutes.

All updates were approved by a majority vote by the members:

  • Updated board election terms with option for re-election
  • New, simplified membership fee structure
  • Formalizing committees on standardization, education and policy development
  • Founding of a non-profit office: FTS Americas

...really pleased to engage with FTS and its members as it becomes increasingly possible to plan a live event in Orlando Florida on October 4th and 5th 2021, for which Jim is putting together some high quality panel discussions around timely topics, including and providing exposure for FTS members.

The challenges of the pandemic-dominated past year, combined with rapidly expanding interests in short food supply chains and climate-resilient solutions, have opened up opportunities. With the help of the staff, FTS has indeed doubled its membership, attracting significant industry leaders and relevant organisations to consolidate critical mass in a diverse representation of all segments in CEA. This will help us strengthen our strategy for the future.Voting Members ratified all the elements of this strategic approach at the meeting, thereby endorsing the proposed roadmap to further growth.
