FarmTech Society & Agritecture, the preferred content partners of Greentech RAI, have co-organised a webinar with a panel discussion of this highly charged topic. The panelists will bring distinct contributions and lively discussion, with a virtual deep dive into horticulture challenges and solutions anticipated. Mariska Dreschler, director of GreenTech RAI, will open the session.
This session will provide answers to some pressing challenges. The panel discussion will begin with 3 real-world examples of vertical farming tackling COVID-19. Expert discussion will follow via the panellists, who come from across the global food system (US, Canada and Ghana). They will dive deeper into the flaws in our food supply chain revealed by the COVID-19 global pandemic. How can we improve our food safety in the future and what is the role of CEA? Food waste is reaching new alarming levels during COVID-19, how do the experts think the best farmers and countries are adapting? And what about food security? Will COVID-19 and CEA improve our global food security in the long-run?
The webinar and the panel topic will be introduced by Gus van der Feltz from the FarmTech Society, with Yara Nagi moderating the panel discussion.
Panellists will be
Lauren Baker from the Global Alliance for the Future of Food, Toronto, Canada
Marni Karlin, from the CEA Food Safety Coalition, Washington D.C., USA
