FarmTech Society—SDGs in sight!

The FarmTech Society supports the Sustainable Development Goals

FarmTech Society (FTS) is committed to working on finding solutions towards multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) actors are devoted to developing and promoting responsible food production and production, in the name of preserving planetary life-supporting conditions and human welfare.

The SDGs were adopted in 2015 by the United Nations as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all human beings will flourish in peaceful societies. The remaining nine years before the wrapping up of this globally coordinated initiative are critical, given that almost all states are lagging behind in implementing transformations and that the alarming rate of observed environmental dislocations calls for urgent action from stakeholders.

The creativity, know-how, technology and financial resources from all of society is necessary to achieve the SDGs in every context.

United Nations’ General Assembly Tweet

FTS is aware of this.

We believe in the role of CEA actors: their diversity and cross-sectoral production methods and technologies go along with the possibility of instigating lasting social, economic and environmental sustainability, across the entire agro-food industry and more.
